Legal Workshop for Colorado Young Adults
We help 18 year olds learn what documents they need to be legally protected and to continue receiving parental support if they choose to do so.
About the WorkshopDid you know...
When a child turns 18, their parents no longer have any parental legal rights over their young adult, unless they have the proper legal documents!
Why is this important?
In the case of an accident, the parents of an 18-year-old CANNOT make medical decisions without certain documentation.
Without HIPAA authorization, hospitals can’t even release details about the medical prognosis of the patient.
The Wise Birds Workshop is the first place Colorado parents go to empower their 18+ year-old children to put the necessary legal documents in place for medical and financial emergencies.
About Wise Birds Workshop
Founded by an estate planning attorney of 15+ years, Wise Birds Workshop educates young adults with the information they need to be legally protected.
We provide the documentation needed, instructions on signing of the documents, and an online repository for 24/7 access, plus a wallet card for immediate notification of emergency contacts.
This includes:
- Medical Durable Power of Attorney
- HIPAA Authorization and Release Form
- General Durable Power of Attorney
Easy-to-follow lessons
We make legal education for young adults easy! This online legal workshop offers easy-to-follow videos and/or step-by-step instructions in every module.
Complete set of documents
We provide the three important documents every 18-year-old in Colorado needs to stay legally protected. These are delivered at the end of the workshop.
Complimentary one-year enrollment in DocuBank
No need to wonder what happens to your documents once they're filled out. We will personally assist you in ensuring that your documents get to where they need to go quickly and securely. DocuBank enrollment also includes a wallet card that can be swiped by medical personnel in an emergency, which triggers automatic notification to the emergency contacts associated with the card.

"My favorite part of my work is when I see someone’s expression transform from confusion to clarity. It lights me up to know that I am able to educate people and give them a sense of relief and reassurance. I have the joy of this experience all the time through the Wise Birds Workshop and in my private practice."
